Setting out to plan a trip to Europe requires much forethought and decision making. The truth of the matter is that there is so much to see when you set out on a Euro trip plan you must first begin by eliminating. Starting with a list of all the countries you may wish to visit and then paring that down to a doable number will make you a much happier Europe trip planner. Trying to see all the countries in one fell swoop is rarely a good idea, unless you have many months to check it out.



You may wish to break down an EURO trip by region. You could start by visiting coastal countries. This often gives you a great sense of the summer and you have the opportunity to see some of the historical sites while still enjoying the beach. Barcelona, Cinque Terre, Rome and Monaco are often great hits for this type of vacation. A hike high on the cliffs between the five villages or a bike ride through sunflowers might make you fall in love with the southern side.



If you like the mountains, consider Switzerland, Austria and Germany. The Alps are absolutely amazing and you can still hit some of the cities and museums as you make your way through. Even France can be added to this type of trip. And don’t forget, if you are a beer drinker, this could be your own little heaven; especially if you go during Oktoberfest. Don’t forget the salt mines in Helzberg as it is a unique experience, one where you can travel from Austria into Germany underground. Imagine the history in these tunnels.

For a northern EU experience, think of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium and Holland. These peaceful little countries are usually a side not to a larger Europe trip planner but can be a centerpiece to a trip all about experiencing the unknown. From street festivals to storybook country sides you will see a side of Europe less explored and leave with memories and images that do not look like the carbon copies of those of friends and family. There is much to do and see all over this region.
